Q&A with Shane Beaton, Account Executive

“Going above and beyond my customers’ expectations is my main goal. There is no greater satisfaction than when a customer recognizes this effort and recommends me to other businesses.”

Shane joined the Amherst Label team recently and we asked him to answer a few questions about himself….

How would you describe your background?

Since I was young, I knew business was for me. I was either mowing lawns or selling homemade bird feeders. I took that business-minded attitude with me to Plymouth State University.

Graduating in business, I pursued a career in sales. After selling commercial printing equipment for three years I quickly learned that I have toner in my blood. Shortly after that, I transitioned into the label manufacturing business. Everything has happened for a reason and I couldn’t be any happier!

What would SURPRISE people to realize about you?

I spent my childhood years growing up on a lake. I remember my dad waking me up at the crack of dawn to go water skiing before the lake got choppy. Instead of taking vacations at Disney World we would go travel to water ski camps down south. Last summer was the first one without a boat. However, I will never pass up the chance to take a ski.

What is the most delightful part of your life OUTSIDE of work?

The one thing I have always valued growing up is family. I love being back home in Sunapee with my three siblings, six nephews and nieces, and tons of cousins. At a typical family get-together, there is a headcount of thirty or more. We are always playing corn hole, hiking, or skiing.

What is your usual WORK DAY like?

A typical work day for me consists of being out with clients and meeting with future clients. When I am in the office I’m strategizing with team members to help create solutions for customer challenges. Whether it’s by phone or e-mail, I am always staying in touch with businesses that rely on us to deliver.

What is the most meaningful thing about your job?

I look forward to starting my day because of my clients and co-workers. Some of my co-workers have as much as 30 years experience in the industry, with a vast knowledge that I can tap into. Going above and beyond my customers’ expectations is my main goal. There is no greater satisfaction than when a customer recognizes this effort and recommends me to other businesses.
