2022 Review

Looking back in gratitude at a record-breaking year for Amherst Label. We had major opportunities to live our “WHY,” which is We Help You. Always working to help our customers reach their goals. Helping our employees succeed and grow. Helping in our communities when we can. Here’s a quick glance in the rearview mirror before we start looking ahead to 2023, our 45th Anniversary year!

When members of the Amherst Label family succeed, we all applaud.

LEFT TO RIGHT: This holiday season, our youngest family member Hadley Hornor earned the part of Clara in the Nutcracker at the Palace Theatre in Manchester, NH. Her AL fan club was there to cheer.

Account Exec Shane Beaton put in the nights and weekends needed to make his sales numbers AND earn his MBA.

Sherri Edwards does her Customer Service job so well that when an opening for manager of that function came along, she was a great choice. And pictured above her is Aaron Johnson, the newest member of our excellent Receiving team.

It was a year of continuous improvements for Amherst Label with investments in tech and facilities throughout the business. Our new pallet wrapper with a highly accurate weight scale (pictured) is just one example of equipment improvements. We also added a rewind table and LED lighting in many areas of the building, including our beautiful new Sales area (pictured). New software solutions for our Customer PortAL (Siteline) and production control (Batched) will deliver efficiencies to help customers. A new parking area was a major benefit for the team.

CLOCKWISE FROM LEFT

NATIONAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS

This fall, Nye Hornor, Amherst Label President, was elected to the Board of Directors of the Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute (TLMI), the prominent national trade association for our field.

CRAFT BEER SUPPORT

Amherst Label is proud to now participate as Allied Members in the craft beer associations in all of the Northeast states. In 2022, we added the NY State Brewers Association, the VT Brewers Association and CT Brewers Guild to our sponsorships which included NH, ME and MA. When the NH and ME Brewers initiated statewide collaborations, Amherst Label gladly offered discounts and donations to these worthy causes, helping to promote the craft beer industry in our states.

SCHOLARSHIP SPONSORSHIP

The Greater Merrimack Souhegan Valley Chamber of Commerce announced a new scholarship program for area high school students and Amherst Label came on as the lead sponsor. More about the Give Back | Give Thanks program and its results in 2022.

GOLD LEVEL PURCHASING

This past year Amherst Label attained the Gold Level of participation in an industry-wide purchasing organization known as FLAG, a designation reserved for leading label manufacturers.

In a year when we welcomed more new customers, produced more labels, hit new sales figures and received our best google reviews to date, we learned lessons in pivoting and relentlessly seeking solutions for our customers. We could not be more excited about the prospects of 2023. But we are humbled as we reflect on our beginnings in 1978, 45 years ago, when one man started a company based on helping customers get the labels they needed. Lots more to reflect on and work toward in the new year!
