1) How would you describe your BACKGROUND?

I am a Female Sales Manager in a male-dominated technical field whose degree is in English. My first job after college was for a not-for-profit in Public Relations where I also bought the printing and I fell in love with the process. Several jobs later, I still think printing is magic.

2) What would SURPRISE people to realize about you?

Between collecting antique sleds, ladders and sandwich sets, I love Bruce Springsteen’s music, useless facts, horrible puns and The Boston Red Sox. A proud native of the State of Maine, while I only have one sibling and one child, I have 42 first cousins.

3) What is the most delightful part of your life OUTSIDE of work?

Spending time with my husband of 34 years, our son and our tight-knit group of pals who we’ve known for decades. We live in a glorious part of the country and spend a lot of time enjoying its bounty.

4) What is your usual WORK DAY like?

I try to plan my work and work my plan, but this is a manufacturing firm – the only constant is change.  My job is a balancing act between my sales responsibilities and my management duties. So, some days are planned for research and execution of sales calls and contacts, while other days are meetings and support. I also spend time on our industry and community outreach. This job is never boring.

5) What is the most MEANINGful thing about your job?

Even after 25 years at Amherst Label, I still learn new things every day. Our business has constantly evolved over the years and the changes are exciting. I am fortunate that there is a group of us who have worked together in this industry for more than 35 years – it makes for a very enjoyable workplace. But the best thing is the relationships I have made with customers and the part that we get to play in the success of their products. It is very satisfying.
